My 1st name is Amanda.
I think it is too common, but I like the meaning - Loveable. ^.^

As I have said in other threads, if you want to learn Japanese and REALLY learn it, I recommend, whole-heartedly, learning it in a classroom environment. It is VERY hard to teach yourself Japanese, especially the writing, but going over it repeatedly in a class keeps it in your memory. :) I learned Hiragana and Katakana very very quickly because it was the 1st thing we learned in the class and from there everything was written in Japanese for the class, forcing you to decipher and learn - a great method, I think.
Kanji takes lots of effort in either case - alone or in a class, but it is easier to learn it by writing it in place of words you already know in sentences, etc. (For example some of my 1st kanji I learned were the kanji for "sensei" and "watashi", etc.) now I know about.. hmm close to 100 kanji but still MUCH more to learn! lol.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR STUDIES! ^_^

Hmm I dunno.
I've been taking Japanese in college and I LOVE IT! ^_^ I get straight a's whee.
If anyone wants to learn Japanese I would DEFINITELY recommend learning it in a classroom environment. It is very hard to teach yourself a language like Japanese - trust me, I've tried. Learning in a class gives you motivation and discipline to learn and it came to me very quickly. I learned so much more in only the 1st semester of the language than I did in YEARS of trying to learn it alone.
My first word was probably a word used in English often as well like maybe Sayonara.

Life in college.. has been the greatest experience of my life thus far, in all honesty. I LOVE my classes, and the professors all seem to genuinely care about the students, Baltimore is a fun city, there's greeeat dorms in my school, I met my amazing boyfriend and some cool people (though there's plenty of dumb ppl too :P) and I just love my school. (I go to Loyola College in MD, btw just incase anyone is interested; I would reccommend the school 100%!)
One thing to master before or very early on in college: TIME MANAGEMENT.

Also - it's as hard as you want it to be. i study and do work right before and right after my classes so that I have plenty of free time. ^^ Also I have a desk job where I just swipe in ID cards of residents, so I can write lots of papers then. People who don't manage time well sometimes describe college work as a lot more work/difficult than it is. It is challenging but not impossible!
Good luck in college - I hope you have a great time!

I love going to class - but I'm in college so I better like it a little! haha.
I can't wait to go back to school in the fall! AHH!

I have a few anime figurines - bunch from NGE, one from Ichigo mashimaro, and one from Trigun.
My older brother has HUNDREDS though. @_@ And lots of comic figurines too.
I've just never been that into them but its fun to look at my brother's figurines.

One or two fillers in a long season of anime can be a good reminder of what's happened, but too many are very very annoying!

f

Nope - I'm a normal-looking college girl who watches anime, lol.
I'd have to admit I don't look like the "stereotypical" anime fan (aka. nerdy) but who cares!?
I've always loved anime and I always will! ^_^

I've never been ridiculed for liking anime, though..

Ohhh man yeah. Thus is the consequence of being the MIDDLE CHILD. ;_;
How sad.. But the thing is - each "child"(though I'm 18, and my older brother is 25) thinks another is more favored. I would say my 1/2 brother, who is 10, is the favourite because he is a spoiled BRAT that gets whatever he wants and is NEVER EVER disciplined. My older brother thinks I am the favourite just because my mom pays a lot for my college. And my 1/2 brother thinks my older brother is the favourite because he got an expensive car... though he paid for it himself. o_O (Little bro has no logic, haha.)

Well I've never been consciously dead, so I'll choose alive. :P

Oh don't worry - that isn't multiple personalities - you just act different in different situations.
Maybe you feel more comfortable at home so you feel you can be more extroverted there.
This is definitely not a case of MPD, so don't worry about that. ^^ Just work on becoming more confident ^_^. Good luck!
